Old Sturbridge Village

The Place!
For today's  a day back in June's quest (I fell a bit behind), we headed to Old Sturbrdge Village, located in Sturbridge, MA.  OSV is a living history museum that depicts life in an 1830s village.

The Quest!
This is a pretty cool place.  I'd been once or twice as a wee one myself, and we had taken Owen before when he was all of two months old.

Owen loved it.  RIght now, the most he gets out of it is being able to get up close and personal with the farm animals.  As he gets older, there are definitely more interactive things for him to do, so this will be a place that we will absolutely re-visit.  If you're into these living history type things, and you're not far from central-ish MA, give this place a visit.

A Day out with Thomas

The Place
For today's quest, Owen got to ride in a train car pulled by none other than Thomas the Tank Engine!

To do this we headed to the Essex Steam Engine, located in Essex, CT.

Gonna keep this log short and sweet.  We rode on a train, pulled by Thomas the Tank Engine.  Owen LOVED it.  Can't get much better than that.

Bluff Point State Park - Groton, CT

The Place
For our adventure today, I decided to start small.  We headed to Groton, CT to explore this small state park on Long Island Sound, and next to the Groton Airport.

The Quest
On a fine spring day in April of 2012, I embarked with Prince Zupka on a quest to explore Bluff Point State Park.  Its a great little park on a bit of land that juts into Long Island sound.  Popular for hiking, biking, running, fishing, shell fishing and equestrians, this park offers a little bit for everyone.

Overall, this was a fine way to start our adventures.  We never went all the way to the end of the trial, but we still did about 2 miles round trip.  The Prince took it like a champ, and we saw a couple of neat things.  This is a place we will absolutely return to.

Its a bird!

Its a Plane!

Its Prince Owen!

Members of the Keep

So, my nome de internet is Lord Zupka.  Following this pattern, my wife will be referred to as Lady Zupka, and heir to our fortune, uh, name shall herein be referred to as Prince Zupka.

Lord Zupka:
An office worker by day, and Krav Maga student by night, Lord Zupka seeks to experience all that life has to offer.  No matter what form this comes in, he stands ready to expose his family to it, weather they like it or not.

Lady Zupka:
A mother by day, and a champion of children everywhere by night, Lady Zupka tolerates with varying degrees of tolerance the shenanigans of Lord Zupka.  At times she will join in on the adventures.  At times she may be just as excited as the Lord and Prince.  Other times, she will be along for the ride.

Prince Zupka:
Heir to the Zupka name, Prince Zupka is an excitable toddler by day, and an excitable toddler by night.  He (unlike Lady Zupka) has no choice but to join in these adventures.

Welcome to the Adventures!

Greetings!  Grüße! Sveikinimai! Saluti! Pozdrowienia!

Welcome to Zupka Family Adventures.  Inspired by my good friend Chris over at CLaP, I've started a blog that focuses on, well, the Adventures of my little family.

Right now, Prince Zupka is taking a tumbling class.  As this is ending soon, we have chosen to not sign him up again.  Instead, I will embark on a series of Saturday adventures with him.

Planed adventures include:
  1. Hiking
  2. New England Air Museum
  3. US Sub Force Museum
  4. More Hiking
Ok, not much so far.  Suggestions are always welcome!

So stay tuned to the chronicles.  I'm sure it will be an adventure for all!
